The New UNDERCOVER x Nike Dunk High Takes Us Back to Late-80s Basketball Style

Teased during UNDERCOVER’s most recent Fall/Winter runway presentation, the model expertly celebrates the origins of Nike Dunk, with its design reminiscent of 1985 pairs. With the start of the Tokyo Olympic Games just a few days away, Nike has decided to reinstate its focus on sports, as demonstrated by the approach of this style.

With typographic embellishments over the heel counter reading “UNDERCOVER BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION”, the silhouette is a nod to the lineage and aesthetic cues of UNDERCOVER’s fictional “UBA” basketball league.

Considerably different to the recent spate of Dunk releases, UNDERCOVER’s take features a steeper ankle collar design, while still maintaining its traditional two-toned color blocking over the upper. Combining a premium red pebbled embossed nubuck and black leather overlays, this distinctive color palette is evened out via an “Oreo” outsole.
