Malte van der Meyden’s candle is molded into a tower of five small blocks that resemble pieces of Styrofoam – during the melting process, it’ll take on a new form. It’s crafted from black canola wax that’s centered by an elongated cotton wick. Based in Düsseldorf, Malte van der Meyden is known for his conceptual design approach. Fascinated with art, architecture, and furniture from a young age, the creative draws inspiration from the practicality of everyday materials and the way in which people respond to them.
